Rhythm AI Connector — Tools & Skills Reference

The Rhythm AI Connector gives your AI assistant two layers of capability: Tools (direct actions it can take inside Rhythm) and Skills (guided, multi-step workflows your AI has been coached to run). This page covers both.

Overview

Tools are the building blocks — individual actions the AI can take in Rhythm, like reading your goals or creating a task.
Skills are pre-built workflows that combine multiple tools to accomplish a bigger job, like drafting your weekly check-in or rescuing red goals.
You can trigger Skills with natural language — no technical knowledge required.

Tools

Tools are the individual capabilities available to your AI assistant through the Rhythm MCP connection. They're organized below by category.

Goals

`create-goal`	Create a new goal (KPI, Quarter Priority, Annual Priority, or Winning Move)

`create-goal-status`	Post a Red/Yellow/Green status update for a goal
`update-goal-status`	Edit an existing goal status update
`create-final-status`	Write an end-of-quarter final status and reflection for a goal
`update-final-status`	Edit an existing final status entry
`link-goals`	Link goals in a parent-child relationship
`unlink-goals`	Remove parent-child links between goals
`get-goal-charts`	Retrieve chart/trend data for one or more goals

Planning Goals (Plan Builder)

`get-planning-goal`	Get a single planning goal with its nested children (Annual → Quarter → sub-goal hierarchy)

`update-planning-goal`	Update a planning goal's name, description, owner, or team

Strategic Plan

`copy-strategic-plan`	Deep-copy a strategic plan to a new effective date, carrying over core values, core competencies, and SWOT

Connector Settings

Skills are guided workflows your AI assistant can run on your behalf using natural language. Just describe what you want and the AI will walk through the steps automatically.
