Rhythm Search Outage

This report describes a service disruption affecting the Rhythm application and the steps we are taking to prevent a recurrence.
What happened
On Monday, 5/11 at 4:18 am ET, the Rhythm application experienced a service disruption lasting until service was restored at 10:00 am ET. Users who attempted to access the app during this window saw error messages or a maintenance page. We recognize this downtime duration is not acceptable, and the steps below are designed to prevent it from happening again.
Who was affected
This outage affected all users attempting to access the app during the downtime window.
What we did about it
We identified the root cause due to a failure in one of our data centers that temporarily made search data unavailable. We restored the affected search index data from an automatic backup and brought the application back online. No customer data was lost. All customer inquiries were responded to once services were restored.
Current status
The system is fully operational. All search index data has been restored and verified.
What we're doing to prevent this
We have taken immediate steps to strengthen our systems and are implementing additional safeguards to prevent future disruptions.
