What Targets Are & Why They Matter
Targets are strategic goals you set and work toward over a defined period — often determined during planning sessions, or drawn from your budget, board, or shareholder commitments.
These are some examples of metrics teams commonly use as Targets:
- Revenue
- Gross Margin
- EBITDA
- Rev./Emp.
- A/R Days
- Inv. Days
- # of Locations
- # of Customers
How to Document Targets
- Under Strategy, choose Targets in the left menu.
- Click Add New Target, enter a name, and click Save.
- Click any column header to edit the year or add a description. Click the + to add columns for additional years.
- Click the cell for each year to enter your target value.
- Optionally, link the Target to an existing KPI — this will sync the Target name and target value with the green criteria automatically.
- If you don't have a KPI yet, you can create one directly from the Target.
