Why Customize Labels

Many companies prefer to use their own terminology when implementing a new system to help manage the transition. Some companies come to us already using a specific goal-setting methodology (ex: OKRs, EOS, Balanced Scorecard, Scaling Up, etc.). Our software labels can be customized to meet your team’s needs and help your team members learn the tool faster with familiar terms.

How to Set Custom Labels

NOTE: Your Rhythm Admin will need to update this setting for your company. If you don’t have an internal Rhythm Admin, please contact our Support Team for assistance.

Here’s a list of some of the labels in Rhythm that you can customize:

  • KPIs
  • Quarter Priorities
  • Annual Priorities
  • Winning Moves
  • Tasks
  • Week In Sync
  • Job Scorecards
  • Parking Lot
  • Daily Huddle
  • Core Purpose
  • Core Values
  • BHAG
  • Weekly Adjustment Meeting
  • Feedback Meeting
  • Performance Management
  • Any label you want using the "Free Form" option!

TIP: You can customize the labels for Rhythm goals, but the goal types will still follow the same logic for hierarchy. You will only be able to link goals of different types according to the rules laid out here even after customizing the labels.

Here’s how to customize your company’s labels:

  • Go to Company Admin > Custom Labels
  • Hit the + button in the top right corner
  • Select the existing label you’d like to customize from the dropdown or toggle on "Free Form" and type the exact Rhythm label you want to change
  • Type the Custom Value you’d like to display

NOTE: Many of the items have a listing for both singular and plural. Please specify a new label for both in these cases. (Ex: To update Quarter Priority to Rock, you’ll also need to create an entry to update Quarter Priorities to Rocks.)

You may need to refresh your browser to see the change. You’ll see the new label throughout the software. For now, the custom labels will not show in reports, email notifications, or some in-app guides.

Removing or Editing Custom Labels

Here’s how to revert back to the original label or edit a custom label:

  • Go to Company Admin > Custom Labels
  • Find the label you want to change in the list
  • Click the more actions button to edit or delete the custom label. Deleting the custom label with revert back to the original label for that item.
