How To Keep Daily Huddles Useful (Infographic)

By: Alicia CrokeWed, Apr 5, 2017 @ 09:00 AM

Recently, my fiance came home very late from a very long shift, and I asked him why it took him so long to get off work. His daily huddle was the answer. At his job, they do huddle when shifts switch, but instead of focusing only on what needs to get done, it turns into a long status meeting. His bosses drone on and on about new hires, process, and things happening on their floor.

The Art of the Daily Huddle: Cascading Huddles

By: Chris CosperThu, Feb 25, 2016 @ 09:00 AM

So, how’s your huddle? I’ve written about huddles before and honestly believe they can be a breakthrough component in building high-performance teams. A ten minute daily meeting with your team can dramatically increase the speed of your execution, improve communication, reduce time spent in all your other meetings, align people and resources, and build relationships.

Daily Huddle With Myself

By: Chris CosperWed, May 20, 2015 @ 09:00 AM

I’m a big fan of the Daily Huddle. I’ve been huddling in different companies and with different teams since 2001, and I’ve never once questioned whether it was the right thing to do. Well, okay, there was one time I questioned it, but that was before I tried it. Read here to see how I got started.

The Right Meeting Rhythm Will Set You Free! (Infographic)

By: Jessica WishartFri, Mar 6, 2015 @ 09:00 AM

It sounds so simple.  But, I was just discussing meeting rhythms with one of my colleagues, and she told me that it took her last company three years to get into a cadence of meetings that actually accelerated their team's progress!  They learned through a lot of trial and error (and probably a lot of wasted time in meetings that were unnecessary and some productive time lost catching up in hallway conversations when a meeting was needed but didn't happen).

Daily Huddle: Everybody Stand-up!

By: Liz McBrideFri, Jan 2, 2015 @ 09:00 AM

Meetings are “the way things get done” at companies today. We had so many meetings when I was in banking that we no longer used the word “meeting” at all; but, rather: “I have an 8, 9:30, 11, 2, 3:30 and 4.” If I wanted to ask someone a question, I’d place it in an email and follow it up with a meeting request. More often than not, we’d conclude the meeting with the next step of setting up another meeting. I would end my day and come home feeling as though I’d accomplished nothing other than answer a ton of emails, put out some fires, sit in on back-to-back meetings and play calendar jockey in planning out my next triple booked day. Sound familiar?

Really? Did I Say That? 6 Tips to Communicate Well in Crucial Meetings Leading to Great Execution - Listen Instead of Respond

By: Patrick TheanFri, Jun 28, 2013 @ 07:00 AM

We live in a P2P (People To People) world, yet often times it feels like we live in a T2T (Tech To Tech) world or a D2D (Device To Device) world. Yeah - get my device to text your device and set up a chat instead of a meeting. As we depend more and more on our devices, we slowly forget how to communicate when we finally do get into a meeting. Wow! A meeting? Really? You mean like with real people talking instead of us thumb-typing on our devices?

The Daily Huddle: A Key Component in Mastering the Rockefeller Habits

By: Chris CosperWed, May 29, 2013 @ 06:27 PM

“Are you kidding me?  Have a meeting every day!  We already have way too many meetings.  The last thing my team wants to do is add another one..... every day.”  Yep, that was me about 12 years ago when my coach, Dan Weston, suggested we implement the daily huddle in my company.   I was reluctant, but he made me promise to give it a try.  My team was reluctant at first too, but in time, this became one of the most important rhythms in the company.  And, not only did the executive team huddle, but the design team huddled, customer service and sales huddled, the engineers huddled and the front line supervisors huddled.
