If this sounds like a lot of work, it is. It will take time and effort to break your big ideas down into a detailed quarterly execution plan, cascade the plan to your departments, and communicate your plan to everyone in the company. It will take discipline, creativity, and focus to work on your plan everyday and collaborate to solve challenges together every week in your weekly team meetings. As a CEO or executive team member who helped craft the vision for the year, you will have to do a lot of cheerleading, monitoring, and coaching along the way - not to mention the elbow grease of executing on your part of the plan. But, think of the opportunity cost if you spend another year not following through on your strategic plans. Won't it feel amazing this time next year to celebrate a plan achieved rather than throw your hands up at another year of keeping up the status quo?

Good luck executing your Annual Plan!
